Jane Sutarjo has been an active participant in Icelandic music life. She has perfomed widely both as a soloist and a chamber musician. In 2011 she performed as a soloist with the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra and made her debut recital in 2014. She also took part in some competitions, such as in Nyborg, Denmark and EPTA Iceland, where she won the 1st prize in 2012.
Born in Jakarta, Indonesia, she showed a big interest in music from early age. Her music education began with her mother as her first piano teacher. Soon after, she also started learning the violin. Later in 2008,she moved to Iceland to study at the Iceland Academy of the Arts, where she studied with Guðný Guðmundsdóttir, Nína Margrét Grímsdóttir, and Peter Máté. She graduated with a Bachelor Degree spring 2012, both in piano and violin performance.
Jane is currently studying with Jens Harald Bratlie at the Norwegian Academy of Music.
