The Piano Department at the Norwegian Academy of Music employs some of Norway's most accomplished performers and pedagogues within its faculty. In addition to countless record releases, all our teachers have given concerts at esteemed festivals and events in Norway and abroad.
The Norwegian Academy of Music offers programmes in Music Performance and Music Education:
The community of piano students at the Academy is experienced as diverse, vibrant and open. Bachelor students in the Music Education and Performance programs collaborate and work together on several varied arenas.
Weekly piano forum where all students have the opportunity to play for each other.
Annual concert tour in southern Norway. Upon return, a final grand concert is traditionally given by the students in the Academy's own Levin Concert Hall.
Regular classes give students stage experience and feed-back in a secure environment of their peers.
Masterclasses with external guest instructors.
Concerts both at the Academy and many other venues.
Chamber music and ensemble practice.
Guest professors and international collaboration
As well as our regular staff of excellent piano teachers and pedagogues, we offer masterclasses and piano seminars with invited pianists and piano pedagogues.
We also invite instructors, both scholars and acclaimed performers, specialised in piano forum pedagogy.
A well-established international collaborative network ensures that our teachers and students are in contact with development and expertise at institutions such as:
Hochschule für Musik und Theater, Hannover
Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler, Berlin
Conservatorio della Swizzera Italiana, Lugano, Sveits
