MHPC21 Call for papers

Due to the covid-19 pandemic, we regret to say that the MHPC21 is cancelled. We look forward to welcoming you to the Musicians & Performing Artist Health and Performance Conference in 2022.

What is MHPC21?

The MHPC21 will be a national, Nordic and international forum for
physicians, therapists, educators, artistic directors/employers, athletic trainers, musicians/performing artists and music/performing arts students and other health care and performing arts professionals who seek to improve the performance, health and well-being of musicians and performing artists within all genres.

The conference aims to combine scientific knowledge and practical experience through a range of keynote speakers, short oral presentations, poster sessions, workshops, panel debates and planned networking.

We welcome submissions on musicians’ and performing artists' health and performance.

Relevant Topics

Relevant topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Musculoskeletal disorders
  • Mental health and performance psychology
  • Sound and hearing disorders
  • Musicians/performing artists and the brain and nervous system
  • Prevention, promotion of health, physical exercise and rehabilitation, physiotherapy/other forms of physical therapy, examination and treatment
  • Research methods, work environment and exposure measurements
  • Musicians and performing artists' health and working conditions and psychosocial factors in artists' work environment
  • Educational programs designed to enhance health and well-being practises and performances.

Presentation Formats and Submission

Format

  • Paper presentation 20 minutes + 10 minutes of discussion.
  • Demonstration or performance presentation: 20 minutes + 10 minutes of discussions.
  • Workshops: 30 or 60 minutes.
  • Poster presentation.
  • Round table/symposium 60/90 minutes.
