Bio/CV

Constantly touring and recording alongside some of Norways finest jazz musicians, Sigurd Hole is one of the country´s most sought after bass players of his generation. "Hole possesses a deep-in-the-gut tone not unlike Arild Andersen" (John Kelman, allaboutjazz.com), and often works with music relating somehow to norwegian folk music combined with elements from contemporary jazz. His main projects are Eple Trio, different projects with Karl Seglem and most recently: Tord Gustavsen quartet. He has also worked closely with his colleague at the academy, Jon Eberson, for several years. First in Jon Eberson Group, later with Eberson Funk Ensemble. In addition to his work as a performing artist Sigurd works as an arranger / composer, his arrangements being played by amongst others the Norwegian radio orchestra (Kork). In 2014 he wrote the commisioned work "Lyden av Prøysen" together with Helge Lien.
