The project deals with facilitating free movement to music for small children under the age of three, in kindergartens in the Røros region.

The children participating in the GRUV project are encouraged to move freely while listening to recorded music. The music is inspired by traditional and Norwegian folk music, as authentic and acoustic as possible.

Regional Physiotherapist Anne Grete Sandbakken initiated the project in 2014. The project is conducted in 7 kindergartens in the community in collaboration with the Norwegian Academy of Music through the Centre for Music and Health and the department for Music Education and Music Therapy. Director of the project is Rita Strand Frisk, University Lecturer. The prospected project period is 29 January 2014 to 31 December 2017.

Providing educational training and guidance for kindergarten staff is an important part of the project. Knowledge and experiences from the project will be disseminated through a printed book.
