Exploring Live Musical Collaboration with Codfish
Summary
This project intertwines methodologies from contemporary music, biosemiotics, and political ecology through open form works and site-specific performances. Critically engaging with thinkers and artists like Elizabeth Povinelli, Oxana Timofeeva, David Toop, and Cornelius Cardew, I hope to challenge contemporary artistic and scientific paradigms, investigating how our current discourses about — and technologies for — listening and collaboration may well be complicit with occidental societies’ extractive practices, while reflecting on the ethics of making music with and in the non-human landscapes around us.
