Course description

The course provides lessons in fortepiano for pianists at bachelor's and master's level

Learning objectives

On completion of this course, the student is expected to:

  • have an understanding of the instrument's uniqueness
  • master the playing technique of the instrument
  • has insight into current repertoire and relevant performance practices
  • has knowledge of the tuning of the instrument

Contents

The course gives the student the opportunity to supplement their main instrument with fortepiano.

Structure

The teaching is normally given individually, 22.5 minutes a week for 22 weeks

Course requirements

Participation in the teaching is mandatory. This normally means that an absence of more than 20 per cent leads to the student not being approved for the course.
At the end of the academic year, the student must submit a repertoire list of at least 45 minutes.
Deadline: By 15 May, the subject's second semester, the repertoire list must be approved by the subject teacher.

Final assessment

All work requirements in the course must be approved for the student to receive a final assessment
The student is assessed in relation to the course's learning objectives. Final assessment is expressed as pass/fail. The final assessment is determined on the basis of an individual assessment of the student's academic level through work on the course
