Between Ysaÿe and Bach

Wouter Torringa’s new solo programme weaves together fragments from solo works by Ysaÿe and Bach with improvisations inspired by their music, blending elements of baroque, contemporary classical, and free jazz.

Wouter Torringa is an improvising violinist and violist from the Netherlands, currently based in Oslo. His music moves at the crossroads of jazz, free improvisation, and contemporary classical music, and his compositions leave space for spontaneity and discovery. By blending his voice with his instruments, he creates a personal and recognisable sound.
