Solo Recital with Nejc Kuhar

Guitarist Nejc Kuhar (Slovenia/Austria) plays a solo recital with his own works.

The Slovenian guitarist and composer Nejc Kuhar, PhD (1987–) studied guitar with Prof. Alvaro Pierri at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and composition at the MUK Vienna. In 2024, he completed his PhD in Music Research at the University of Surrey with Steve Goss. As a multi-award-winning guitarist and composer, his works have been published by d'OZ. He performs worldwide as a soloist and with the Eminent Duo, gives master classes and is active as a juror. His pieces have been performed at the Vienna Musikverein, Konzerthaus Vienna, Washington National Gallery of Art and the Slovenian Philharmonic, among others. Since 2019 he has been teaching guitar and new music at the MDW Vienna, and since 2018 at the Joseph Haydn Private University in Eisenstadt. He also lectures at renowned universities such as the Juilliard School, Curtis Institute and Frankfurt Musikhochschule.

The Guitar Conference 2026

The sections for classical and rhythmic guitar at the Academy invite guitar teachers, guitarists, students and other guitar enthusiasts to a conference 5–8 March.
