Artistic research at NMH is grounded in principles of sustainability and promotes ethically conscious and reflective research and development practices. All artistic research projects are part of the Arne Nordheim Centre (NordART) and are largely organized under departments and disciplinary groups where senior researchers and PhD fellows collaborate, discuss, and develop projects.
We are looking for artists with a high level of expertise and a strong artistic portfolio who wish to carry out performing and/or creative doctoral projects in music. We welcome projects across all genres and musical practices, including those that cross departmental boundaries or introduce disciplinary groups within NordART.
For admission in 2026, we are announcing one position in the MishMash Centre for AI and Creativity. We are looking for projects across all genres and musical practices where artificial intelligence is a central part of the artistic work.
