Conference Practices focuses on academic conference practices in music theory and related fields. Over eight online sessions, discussion-based participants take part in the same online sessions as presentation-based participants, including keynote lectures, panel discussions, roundtable conversations, and peer feedback. The course offers students practical experience in discussing, responding to, and reflecting on scholarly work in a simulated international conference environment. It is especially suitable for BA, master’s, and doctoral students in music theory or closely related fields who would like to develop their academic communication skills, receive feedback, and take part in an international academic setting.
