Artistic Development Work - a mapping of course contents and teaching approaches in the context of the Rhythmic Music Conservatory (RMC)

Over the past 10 years, the course Artistic Development Work has been an important academic focal point in RMC's strategy of developing the creative and performative educations towards more student-centered and peer-based learning approaches, and at the same time open to greater diversity in students' artistic – including aesthetic, methodological and contextual – orientation. Today, Artistic Development Work is rooted as a major course in the creative and performative bachelor's, master's and soloist educations, and thus also marks a shift towards Artistic Research as a primary knowledge base, which has had a pervasive effect in terms of both the curriculum, the recruitment of students and new employees, as well as in RMC's contribution to the development of the rhythmic contemporary musical field in a particularly Danish context.

The mapping thus aims to shed light on the course’s core contents and areas, teaching approaches and knowledge base, as well as to establish a multimedia digital exposition to be shared with peers and as a potential resource for students, where artistic work, project development, method, contextualization, reflection and dissemination is included as key aspects.
