The Vortex Space is an open space, throughout the day. Employees, students as well as guests/the public are welcome to enter - and may stay all day long, if they so wish.
In the Vortex Space music from the entire spectrum of styles and genres performed and created at NMH, will be played and shared. Academic staff and students may book time for presentations - in many different formats, and we will curate group conversations that tie these presentations together. There may also be debates on topics related to art. It is possible to just sit down and listen, or even join in, to these conversations.

A space for sharing, discussing, and experiencing art. A flexible room for the academic staff and the students to share their projects.

The Vortex Space
Between the programmed events, there will be periods of silence, allowing you to walk around and experience video installations, listening stations, texts, and books that the NMH staff and students have laid out in the Vortex Space. In addition to the physical Vortex Space, material from some of the presentations will be shared on the Vortex Space home page.
The goals of the Vortex Space include collaboration and dialogue across artistic/academic subgroups, student engagement, inclusion, knowledge exchange, and the sharing of employees' academic/artistic research, as well as their artistic practices.
The Vortex Space #1
Economist PierLuigi Sacco visited the Virvel Room at NMH on 5 September, the Friday before the parliamentary election, for an open salon conversation. Do our politicians understand the importance of art for individuals and society? Do we understand it ourselves? War and crises, loss of nature, and polarisation—should we strengthen or scale down cultural life in such times?
Throughout his career, Sacco has focused on the question, "Why is art important to people?" by researching cultural economics and societal development, as well as participating in international collaborations.
