The question AREPO faced when searching for repertoire was not just “What exists?” but “What music represents our sound?” The accordion, cello, clarinet, and guitar may come from each end of the instrument spectrum however the possibilities for sonic world, timbre, and exploration are endless. As a group formed in Oslo, we chose four Scandinavian-based composers whose work inspired and reflected the musical journeys we aim to perform. The works explore mixed media, the relationship of body to sound, microtonality, just intonation, and improvisation.
