The music student conference was organised for the first time on 30 October 2020 by students Anna Rødevand and Siri Storheim, who also initiated the conference. The second time it was organised was on 1 April 2022 with Sigrid Sand Angelsen from NTNU as a new addition to the team. The last edition of the Music Student Conference was held on 21 April 2023, under the leadership of Sigrid Sand Angelsen and Karen Elise Fridtjofsen.

The Music Student Conference is an event by and for music students. The purpose is to create a social and professional meeting place for music students from all over Norway, which is unique in a European context. The value of gathering is central to discussing major issues related to music education and the music industry.
The purpose
The goals of the music student conference are:
- to better prepare students for current and future musical life by recognising the connection between their studies and the labour market
- to strengthen co-operation between institutions by bringing together students from all over the country
- to develop the programme to be even better by allowing students to have a concrete impact
- creating a space for joint and individual reflection and for sharing ideas and thoughts to offer something new that does not exist today
