Gro Trondalen is a music therapist and professor of music therapy at the Norwegian Academy of Music. Trondalen has a PhD in music therapy for young people with eating disorders and a 3-year specialization in the listening method, The Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music (GIM). She is an experienced music therapy clinician, teacher, researcher, and supervisor for master's and PhD students and for practicing music therapists in child welfare and mental health. Trondalen has previously led the master’s program in music therapy, the PhD program in music, and the Center for Research in Music and Health (CREMAH) at the Norwegian Academy of Music. Her international commitment is evident through her active involvement in the World Federation of Music Therapy, the European Music Therapy Confederation, and the European Association for Music and Imagery. Trondalen has published two international monographs, co-edited six anthologies/books, and published several Norwegian, Swedish, and English (scientific) articles, some translated into German and Japanese.
